How to Create Facebook 3d Photo in Photoshop from a Regular Photo



As few days ago, Facebook has rolled out 3D photos feature, there are two ways to create and share 3D Photos to the Facebook.

  1. If you have an iPhone with the dual lens feature, you can take a picture in the “Portrait” mode & then upload it to the Facebook. Facebook automatically detect 3D layer and convert it in 3D photos and be done with it.
  2. You can create 3D photo manually in Photoshop. You need to create a depth map. It is a lot of manual work, but it can be done, and the effect is very cool!

Once you exported custom 3D Photos from Photoshop as you learn in the above tutorial. To share this 3D photo on Facebook you just need to follow these simple steps.

  1. Login to your Facebook Account
  2. Go to your timeline and select Photo/Video to upload your Images.
  3. Now browse, select and upload your created Image and Depth Map Image direct from your Computer and upload both Images simultaneously.
  4. Now, wait. Facebook AI will detect your map and create a 3D visual Graphic for you.
  5. It’s Done. You can share it now!

You can upload 3D Photos direct from your mobile also, simply transfer the files to your phone. Login to your Facebook account and select “3D Photo” from Facebook’s Post menu.
